GROWER CHAMPAGNE CLUB

APRIL 2021

Champagne Fleury has been run by the Fleury family for over a century, and with each new generation have marked themselves an iconic standout throughout the modern history of Champagne. They were the first family to replant Pinot Noir in the region in the post-phylloxera era, and were one of the first growers to bottle their own Champagne pre WWII. Jean-Pierre Fleury made his concern with the environmental impact of chemicals in the soils his primary focus in the 70’s and by the late 80’s was the very first Biodynamically farmed Champagne house. (wow!)

From the 1990’s on Fleury became one of the top names in Champagne, which was most especially unique because of their location in the Côtes de Bar. Today, Morgane and Jean-Sebastien are the dynamic face of the house and they continue the legend in perfect fashion. Morgane can be found showcasing the family wine on the rue Saint-Denis in Paris at her natural wine bar ‘Ma Cave Fleury’ – an iconic spot to enjoy a glass of world class bubbles. Over and over again this family proves both fearless and adept at coming up with unique and bold solutions to the challenges of standing out in the incredibly challenging world of Champagne.
